The mission of the Minnesota Resort and Campground Association is to provide the tools to help our members be successful.

The MRA was formed in 1944 and incorporated in 1946. The Association merged with the Minnesota Association of Campground Operators (MACO) in 1996, becoming the Minnesota Resort & Campground Association (MRCA).

In 1958, the MRCA decided there was much to gain by joining forces and working collectively with two other hospitality organizations...the Minnesota Lodging Association and the Minnesota Restaurant Association. Together they created a management company, known today as Hospitality Minnesota.

Under this unique structure, each association retains its own mission, brand identity, budget and Board of Directors, but enjoys commonality of staff and office space. The MRA owns 50% of the stock in Hospitality Minnesota with the MLA and MRCA owning the remaining 50% of the stock, split at 25% each. 

Hospitality Minnesota can speak at the Legislature as the voice of the hospitality industry, representing nearly 3,000 businesses from all across the state. The coalition also collectively offers ServSafe® food manager certification, the Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation, Hospitality & Tourism Day at the Capitol, the Hospitality Political Action Committee (HOPAC) and the Hospitality Minnesota Conference & Expo.
