Annual Awards Gala

The MLA, MRA and MRCA annually recognize leaders who are examples of excellence in the lodging, restaurant, and resort and campground industries. The 2019 MRCA awards were given at their annual Fall Conference on October 30, 2019. The 2019 MLA and MRA awards will be given at a joint awards gala on Monday, January 27, 2020. Nominations are now open!

Submission Deadline: Friday, November 22, 2019

Nominations are now open for the Minnesota Restaurant and Minnesota Lodging Association’s Annual Awards!

Nominations will be accepted in seven categories until Friday, November 22

New this year is the People’s Choice Award, recognizing the person or business that made an undeniable impact on the hospitality industry in 2019.
 
The Joint MRA-MLA Awards Committee will identify the award honorees announced at our awards gala, Monday, January 27, 2020. Click through to each award for further details about award criteria and to submit your nominations!

Minnesota Restaurant Annual Awards: 

Minnesota Hospitality Hall of Fame inductees are considered “legends” of the Minnesota restaurant, lodging, and resort/campground industries.

 

Restaurant of the Year recognizes a member company that provides outstanding customer service and distinguishes itself as a leader in the industry and community.

 

Restaurant Community Award recognizes restaurant members or individual members that provide great food and service while also being good stewards of our environment and community.

Minnesota Lodging Annual Awards: 

​Minnesota Hospitality Hall of Fame inductees are considered “legends” of the Minnesota restaurant, lodging, and resort/campground industries.

 

Small Property of the Year Award (100 rooms or fewer) recognizes a member property's and General Manager's impact on the lodging industry, be it as a new property; by making a significant turnaround as an existing property; or by being a model of stability for others to follow.

 

Large Property of the Year Award (more than 100 rooms) recognizes a member property's and General Manager's impact on the lodging industry, be it as a new property; by making a significant turnaround as an existing property; or by being a model of stability for others to follow.

 

Head of the House Award recognizes an hourly employee in the "front of the house" of a member property who demonstrates above average care and service to guests and/or co-workers.

 

Heart of the House Award recognizes an hourly employee in the "back of the house" of a member property who demonstrates above average care and service to guests and/or co-workers.

*Nominations for the below awards will be accepted from both the Restaurant and Lodging sectors.

One award will be given from the pool of nominees.

Rising Star Award recognizes an individual member who is new to the industry and/or position, shows passion for the hospitality industry and demonstrates outstanding growth potential in the field.

 

Allied Vendor of the Year is presented to an Allied member of Hospitality Minnesota that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the industry and community.

 

Legislative Advocate of the Year honors a member who has performed exemplary service to the industry by involvement in the legislative process.

 

NEW! Hospitality Minnesota People’s Choice Award recognizes excellence in Minnesota’s hospitality industry, through innovation, longevity, or otherwise undeniable impact. All members of Minnesota's hospitality industry are eligible for this award, regardless of their MRA membership status.
