Hospitality Minnesota offers the ServSafe® Food Safety program that meets Minnesota's Department of Health requirements. Several options exist wherever you may be in your certification process:

  1. A full-day class of in-person instruction with exam at the end of the day

  2. 1/2 day re-certification class of in-person instruction 

  3. Exam only option 

  4. Online learning (English or Spanish)


1. Full-Day Food Manager Course and Exam Details:

  • Arrival time and check-in 7:45am

  • Class and instruction: 8am-4pm

  • Exam: 4-6pm

  • Fees: $145/members/$170 non-members

  • What you will receive:

    • ServSafe® Manager Textbook - The textbook will be sent a few weeks prior to the class. Studying prior to the class is strongly encouraged.

    • Detailed handouts

    • Entry into the national certification registry

    • A ServSafe® certificate from the National Restaurant Association

2. Half-Day Recertification Details:

  • Arrival time and check-in 7:45am

  • Class and instruction: 8am-12pm

  • No exam required

  • $55/members/$75 non-members 

  • What you will receive:

    • a certificate of completion to submit to the Minnesota Department of Health 

    • a Food Protection Manager Certification Renewal Form, for Minnesota re-certification

3. Exam Only 

  • Arrival time and check-in 3:45pm

  • Exam: 4-6pm

  • $45 members and non-members

4. Online Instruction

  • Only includes the instruction portion of the class.

  • Once you begin the course, you will have 90 days to complete it.

  • The exam portion must be taken in-person.

  • Instruction is available in English or Spanish.

  • Types of food borne diseases

  • No Refunds will be given for no shows.

  • How to purchase and receive safe food

  • Quality control procedures for produce

  • Signs of spoilage

  • Rules for receiving and inspecting food

  • Principles of safe food storage

  • How to organize a cleaning program

  • Pest control

 
Refund Policy

If you need to cancel, a $45 rescheduling fee will be assessed if we reschedule you in another course. 

 

We Can Bring ServSafe to You!
