The Hospitality and Tourism Management program curriculum provided by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) delivers professional training programs and recognized credentials to the hospitality and tourism industry worldwide. Developed by industry professionals and academic experts, the HTMP courses and exams set the standard for excellence in hospitality. Administered by the AHLEI and coordinated in Minnesota by the Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation, the program offers a wide array of resources to help you implement the program and to prepare you with training and development opportunities. Become an AHLEI Registered Academic Instructor
As a Registered Academic Instructor for AHLEI courses and exams, you can provide your students with the chance to earn credentials that will be recognized by hiring authorities, signaling their hard-earned knowledge and expertise.
As an approved HTMP instructor, you'll be able to:

As an approved HTMP instructor, you'll be able to:
- Access instructor resources for textbooks and course materials that support success in the classroom
- Set up and schedule online exams
- Register students into the online exam sessions that you proctor
- Access online exam results for the students in your exam session
To get registered:
- Login to AHLEI.org to create a profile
- Once you’re logged in, click the appropriate link below to register as a proctor for your course. (Please note the link will open in a new browser tab)
- On the Learning & Exams page, under My Exam Activity click on “Applications” tab
- On the Application tab, click “Launch” to start your brief proctor application
- Once your application is submitted, you will receive confirmation within 3-4 business days and will then be able to access resources and administer exams.
- To register, select the program below that is most appropriate for the courses that you teach.
- You will need to request instructor status for multiple programs depending on the courses you are teaching.
