Why choose a career in hospitality?

Right now and for the years to come, the hospitality industry faces a huge need for workers at all levels. Most people get their first job in hospitality -- 1 in 3 Americans currently -- but many think they have to go on to other industries to find a "real" job.

In truth, the hospitality industry is one of the most diverse fields available, where you can climb the ladder while you travel the world. It also offers one of the fastest paths to management and entrepreneurship you'll find anywhere. And, workers who start in the industry and move up the ranks earn more in their careers.

Ready to explore your options? Check out these resources from our national partners:
  • National Restaurant Association Education Foundation
  • American Hotel and Lodging Association Foundation
    • World of Possibilities - a brochure outlining the variety of positions available and a typical career ladder
Because of these (and other) scholarships, I was able to receive my degree, debt-free.  I found something I was good at, and I pursued it.  Follow your passion!
