Advocating for a strong hospitality industry in Minnesota
Government affairs is a hallmark of Hospitality Minnesota's work. It's been that way since the three original associations were formed in the 1930s and it always will be. As a member, you can count on having multiple voices working on the issues that matter most to your hospitality business -- ours, yours and your fellow members.
Hospitality businesses face a complex set of public policy issues, from economic relief to taxation to natural resource management and employer mandates. Our government relations team has deep experience and extensive networks at the State Capitol in Minnesota and in Washington D.C. We work hard to represent your interests in the state and federal policy development process, and to advocate for laws and local ordinances that create the best conditions your business.

Advocate for your issues with public officials
Direct advocacy with public officials is the most effective way to make change. We have tools to help you host legislators, city council members and county commissioners at your business and to make contact with them through meetings, emails and phone calls.
Supporting political candidates that support us
Through the Hospitality Political Action Committee, or HOPAC, we raise money to give to political candidates, from across the political spectrum, who we believe will be champions for our causes at the local, state and federal levels. Members are encouraged to donate annually.
